CAB DRIVER SUFFERS CARDIAC ARREST AND CRASHES CAR INTO HEATHROW AIRPORT

A minicab has mounted the pavement and crashed into the side of Heathrow’s Terminal 5 building.

A spokesman for the UK’s busiest airport said the road accident closed one lane of the departure terminal’s forecourt.

Paramedics were called to the passenger drop-off zone shortly after 5am on Monday. A man thought to be in his 60s had suffered cardiac arrest and was treated at the scene, the London Ambulance Service said.

“He was taken as a priority to Hillingdon Hospital,” said a spokeswoman.

“Luckily we don’t think anyone apart from the driver was hurt. It could have been much worse.”

The car appeared to have rammed through a fence before smashing into a tall glass window pane on the side of the terminal.minicab
